The Boathouse
We’re delighted to invite you to see our stunning new wedding and events venue on the West Coast of the Isle of Arran. The Boathouse at Dougarie opened its doors for weddings and celebrations in July 2021, after a lot of love and hard work to renovate this beautiful iconic listed building back to its full glory.
The setting of The Boathouse at Dougarie provides the most scenic and glamorous backdrop you could wish for to create your ultimate Scottish Island event.
Weddings or other special events can either be situated at the Boathouse and can be used in association with a marquee should you wish to host a larger event for up to 200 people. The location offers spectacular views over the Kilbrannan Sound towards the Mull of Kintyre and provides a truly romantic setting for Scottish weddings, civil services, or special events.
Exclusive Hire of the Boathouse
This can include accommodation split across Dougarie Estate properties including the luxury House of Machrie and The Towers. The latter in particular would enable the most wonderful picturesque walk down to The Boathouse. Overall, you can sleep 35 people across 5 houses if required.
The Boathouse alone would accommodate a wedding party of 60-80 people but for larger weddings it can be used in conjunction with a marquee for up to 200 people.
You can hire The Boathouse on a venue only basis or choose from the various packages on offer.
For those preferring a church ceremony there are a number of pretty churches on the Island.
