For many years the House of Machrie was the farmhouse for the principle farm on the island and even had a brush with Royalty in 1904. The House is approximately half a mile inland from the western shore. It is set back from the road and has wonderful views across farmland to the 9 hole Machrie Bay Golf Course and beyond.
The House is well furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, and plenty of recreational space with a drawing room, sitting room, large conservatory and dining room that seats 14 comfortably. The sleeping accommodation is split over the ground and first floor, with 2 double bedrooms en-suite, 5 twin rooms, one of which is en-suite and 3 bathrooms. In addition there is a cloakroom and drying areas.
Outside there is a large yard, enclosed gardens with furniture and a barn that has been converted into a games room with table tennis, billiard table and seating, a separate outside pantry / laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer and plenty of room to store golf bags, bicycles or any other outdoor kit.
All linen and towels are provided. Electric, logs and fuel for the fire is also included.
